We have a couple of new MP3s online at http://www.metatronpress.com/mp3/ "Gray Code Improvisation (edit)" is an excerpt from our concert on November 11, 1998. It's the first sample online that concentrates on our instrumental work. "Streaming (conclusion)" is the very end of that concert. In Streaming performances, we improvise with the possibility of weaving in other pieces from our repertoire. (A tip of the hat to Anthony Braxton...) In this brief excerpt, you can hear elements of "Corduroy Piano Dream" and the last movement of Matt's "Sevenroughs" from our album. As far as I can tell, the text developed as: Corduroy antiseptic rope Cavendish haggis kishke Fortnum & Mason's Please it is time. Make of that what you will. We were fortunate to perform at Drew in the FM Kirby Theatre, usually used by the New Jersey Shakespeare Festival. (We were actually on the set of a Tennessee Williams play, a raked stage which gave us interesting movement possibilities.) The sound booth there is wonderfully well equipped. Even though we used little equipment, as usual, in our performance, it still came in handy: they used a pre-placed mic setup to record the performance direct to CD, which is the source of these recordings.
