About the CD
Frank Zappa, "Dental Hygiene Dilemma" (voices) is the debut album from the experimental vocal ensemble Comma. The album was recorded on December 10th and 15, 1997 at Speakeasy Studios in Baltimore, Maryland, produced by the ensemble and engineered by the adept and intuitive Jeremy Meyers. We recorded it direct to digital stereo with no post-processing or remixing. (voices) is the first audio release by Metatron Press, a multimedia production and publishing group based in Greenbelt, Maryland. In a previous incarnation, Metatron Press had published books and chapbooks of poetry, as well as musical scores. It has expanded its scope to include, among other things, Web site design (including this project) and eventual CD-ROM production. Most of the graphics on the CD and Web site were created by the members of Comma and Metatron Press. Photography for the images of the ensemble is by Harold Dorwin. The CD was officially released on February 24th, 1998, with a release event/concert at the University of Maryland at College Park.
